Karaktär

Stor, kraftfull och koncentrerad doft med inslag av solmogna körsbär, jordgubbar, hallon, blåbär, björnbär, peppar, rosor, viol och mynta. Smakrik, komplex och kraftfull med välintegrerad och sammetslen tanninstruktur, en otrolig finess och utmärkt balans. Lång harmonisk eftersmak med en angenäm mineralitet

Tillverkning

Druvorna skördades för hand. De avstjälkades innan de pressades skonsamt och musten fick sedan jäsa i rostfria ståltankar. Ungefär tre veckors skalmaceration med regelbunden överpumpning. Den malolaktiska jäsningen sker i ekfat. Vinet har lagrats 30 månader i en kombination av stora slavonska ekfat och en mindre del franska barriquer. Vinet är ofiltrerat.

Passar till

Serveras vid 16-18°C till rätter av lamm, nöt eller vilt. Vinet passar också utmärkt till lagrade hårdostar.

Vinet hette tidigare Barbaresco Roncaglie Masseria, men från och med årgång 2020 är "Masseria" struket ur namnet.

Drink Date: 2026 - 2045 Past vintages of this wine were called Roncaglie Masseria, but the word Masseria has been removed. The Vietti 2021 Barbaresco Roncaglie draws its fruit from inclined vineyards that produce fruit with finesse and elegance. This pretty wine opens to a note of fragrant flower or heritage rose that accompanies you over a long, silky close. In a good vintage like 2021, vintners could push skin macerations a little longer. This wine saw 25 days on the skins compared to 22 days in the 2022 vintage. Vietti recently purchased land in Rabajà, a site that produces profound wines, and this plot in Roncaglie has a greater presence of sand in its soils, creating more floral and delicate expressions instead. This matures in large oak casks for 24 months

Lustrous mid ruby. Beautifully perfumed raspberry nose that grows in depth with aeration, with hints of white pepper. Succulent yet elegant raspberry fruit on a layer of chewy, ripe tannins. Very long and with fantastic balance, this is a gorgeous wine that is still embryonic. Drink date: 2028-2040.
